LG Electronics, the world’s second-biggest flat-screen television maker,
plans to produce and sell 50,000 55-inch organic light-emitting diode
(OLED) televisions this year, a senior company executive said.
Why This Is Important:
While the number from LG seems low for a worldwide launch, given the
high suggested retail and the buzz surrounding OLED technology, the unit
sales prediction for this year seems in line with what is expected to
occur.
